Job Title:Social Media & Video Content Coordinator Reports to: Content Manager
Maintains and evolves USA Triathlon’s social media presence with a goal to educate, entertain and inspire current multisport athletes, while creating opportunities to grow the sport and reach a new audience. Develops compelling content, including videos, articles, graphics and more, to distribute across USA Triathlon’s social media platforms. Passionate about the ever-evolving social media world and always on top of new social trends, products and platforms.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
•Manages USA Triathlon’s day-to-day social media presence across all social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat, Pinterest and Google+ •Plans social content calendar and develops or sources unique copy and visual content, including videos, articles, graphics and more, to engage fans, promote the organization’s programs and celebrate the sport of triathlon •Produces and edits videos in-house for social and web •Uses social media to increase brand recognition for the sport and organization, improve value perception, inspire members and non-members, grow membership and drive traffic to usatriathlon.org •Collaborates with team regarding social media strategy and campaigns; works closely with athletes, partners and other departments at USA Triathlon on content creation; and identifies opportunities for user-generated content •Stays current with social media landscape, marketing and communication methods and other trends, and adapts approaches as needed to stay attractive and relevant with participants, fans, sponsors and donors — including a focus on being youthful and trendy to reach the next generation of the sport •Evolves USA Triathlon’s voice for each social platform in a way that is innovative and engaging, while remaining consistent with the brand’s vision and high standards for professionalism •Provides event support at various USA Triathlon National Championships through live social media coverage and assistance with other tasks as needed •Grows USA Triathlon’s social media following and online community •Acts as vital customer service arm of organization by responding to member and non-member requests and questions on social in a timely manner •Monitors and analyzes social analytics to guide strategy and best practices •Other duties as assigned
Qualifications •Minimum of 1-3 years professional experience •A strong communicator with excellent writing and editing skills •Experience and proven knowledge in the social media environment •Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, English, marketing or relevant field •High proficiency with video and photo editing •Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud collection and Microsoft Office; skilled with Mac and PC operating systems, including mobile devices and technology •Possesses strong organizational and time management skills to effectively manage multiple projects at a time •Creative, forward-thinker with the ability to follow emerging trends and bring new ideas to the team •Desire to work within a fast-paced environment as part of a team •Ability to travel for events and work a flexible schedule, including off-hours, weekends and holidays •Ability to work long hours at events with time spent on feet, walking around •Familiarity with the sport of triathlon, or endurance sports, is preferred but not required
Compensation and Benefits
