Summary: Serves as one of three regional liaisons working throughout the United States. Each Regional Facilitator will have two regions in which their primary responsibility is developing collaborative relationships between constituents to help them be more successful and bring new people into the sport. Adopts a leadership role across all regions with a specific focus as the champion of women’s initiatives, as well as guiding programs and communication between the staff, region volunteers and constituents.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Develops relationships with and acts as a coach and consultant to race directors, coaches, clubs, and retailers within their two regions. Brings stakeholders together to grow participation in the sport. •Proactively engages the region volunteers and leverages USA Triathlon media and outreach resources to share best practices. •Recruits and manages volunteers for the regional programs. •Engages national Women’s Committee and Team USA Ambassadors to create opportunities to leverage efforts. •Collaborates with staff and regional volunteers to evaluate women’s programs in each region, and proposes objectives and methods to enhance underperforming areas. •Coordinates with the national marketing and communications team for continued support of events to grow female participation in triathlon. •Collaborates with the membership team and Research Coordinator to identify key markets for female athletes. •Organizes speaking engagements and educational events for women interested in triathlon and those interested in growing female participation. Creates talking points and content that will help combat the obstacles women face, both physical and mental, that keep them from competing in triathlon. •Engages existing clubs and facilities for women’s outreach opportunities. •Other duties as assigned.
•Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in marketing or business. •Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other software/digital functionality such as Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and social media. •Minimum three to four years of experience in public relations, sports marketing or non-profit organizations. •Extremely personable with excellent verbal and written communication skills •Willingness to travel regularly and work additional hours as necessary, including nights and weekends. •Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment as part of a team atmosphere, including effective coordination with members of other departments. •Experience within, or knowledge of, the multisport or endurance industries is beneficial but not required.
