Einstein Health Network(www.einstein.edu) announces a national search for a Chief Medical Officer.
This position reports directly to the President and CEO of Einstein Healthcare Network. The Chief Medical Officer will be a senior physician executive of the EHN leadership team, providing clinical and strategic oversight and will take the lead on many critical initiatives as EHN continues its mission of performance excellence. The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) will oversee the following;
Quality and Patient Safety Departments
Medical Staff Office
Department Chairs of Dental Medicine, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Anesthesia, Medicine, Behavioral Health, Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Radiology, Digestive Disease and Transplantation, Neurology, Orthopaedics, Surgery, Radiation Oncology, Pathology, and Emergency Medicine.
The CMO will interface with the health system officers for graduate medical education, regulatory affairs, and others. The ideal candidate will be an accomplished physician executive who has demonstrated by earlier accomplishments an ability to define a vision for primary, secondary and tertiary-care services in an academic teaching environment, and work effectively with other members of an executive management team.
Based on its mission to educate future generations, Einstein offers more than 32 highly-regarded Residency and Fellowship training programs in numerous specialty and subspecialty areas, providing training and education to more than 430 residents. As an active participant in the education of medical students, nursing students, pharmacy students and allied health student’s EHN partners with several area universities, and since July 2000 has been a major teaching affiliate of Thomas Jefferson University including the Sidney Kimmel Medical College.
Korn Ferry International
M.D. or D.O. with at least ten years of post-graduate clinical experience; An M.B.A, M.P.H. or equivalent degree is preferred. Board certification is a requirement.
Eligible to obtain an appointment as a faculty member of Thomas Jefferson University’s Sidney Kimmel School of Medicine
Experience as Chief Medical Officer or Medical Director within a progressive, complex health care system, ideally in an academic environment is preferred.
Experience in physician engagement and clinical process transformation.
Ability to serve as an effective champion for quality and continuous performance improvement using passion and persuasive skills
History of successful clinical and educational leadership experience, as well as the political acumen to navigate an integrated healthcare system.
